k.forell & associates, pllc has been blessed in 2011 and would like to wish everyone a prosperous 2012.
We have a few changes for the upcoming tax filing season. Carla VanLandingham will continue to manage the Cherokee office with the assistance of Paula Mahieu on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday afternoons. Others from the Alva office will join them via remote access to the Cherokee computers and in person as needed. We are sad to see CPA Julia Rohrs leave us as she has taken a position with a regional accounting firm. We do wish her well. Due to these changes, we would like to encourage all Cherokee clients to utilize the Alva office as much as possible to better utilize our resources.
k.forell & associates, pllc is proud to welcome NWOSU accounting graduate Nicole Brandemuehl (full-time) and NWOSU accounting student Layne Lagasse (part-time) to the Alva office. We were blessed with their presence this past fall and are grateful they will be joining us in 2012. Kelly will continue to make trips to the Anthony office on Wednesdays. Guy Forell will also be joining Michelle Tharp and Lynn Hatfield in the Alva office as needed.
We will continue to use tax extensions to give us more time to complete the final filing of tax returns. This is a great tool that helps keep our staff engaged year round. If you have any questions about the use of extensions, please do not hesitate to give us a call. An extension of time can give us more time to determine the best use of the available drought options, deferral of crop insurance, and can give us more time to put funds into our self-employed retirement accounts if applicable. The extension does not give us additional time to pay any taxes that may be due, only to finalize the paperwork requested by the Internal Revenue Service. Most income tax payments are due by April 15th. There may be a few exceptions to this rule.
Here is a little more about our history. k.forell & associates, pllc was established in August of 2007 by certified public accountant Kelly M. Forell with the opening of the main facility in Alva, Oklahoma. A branch location was added in Anthony, Kansas in December 2007 and the Cherokee office was added in August 2009. Both k.forell & associates, pllc and Kelly M. Forell are licensed to practice public accounting by the Oklahoma Accountancy Board and Kansas Board of Accountancy.
Our team of professionals enjoys having the opportunity to provide accounting services to the public.
